I think this may be the first time I've ever given a book two stars. I am not sure how this book received any five stars. Hope is asked by the Mayor's office to over see cases in the DA's office for any First amendment violations. This part of the story was done fairly well. But once Hope and Dennis hook up for the first time they profess their undying love for each other and he asks her to marry him. How unrealistic. Dennis then accuses Hope of something she is not responsible for and they break up. They stay broken up until Dennis is involved in a car accident. Then Hopes goes to the hospital to be with him. THE END! This is probably the worst ending of any book I have ever read. If this is how all her books go, I don't think I will be reading any more.Product details

I really liked this book. Dennis Murphy is not a rough and tumble cowboy or rancher or wildcatter. He's a tough as nails district attorney in love with the woman assigned to investigate corruption in his office. He's always had a thing for Hope Jarvis, and watching him fight his feelings for the pretty young lawyer he can't resist makes for a fun and sexy story. I loved Murphy's combination of sophistication and boyish uncertainty. He is a delight as he pursues Hope and protects her against a dangerous client who has more than his case on his mind. This is a charming read. Don't miss it.
This was an excellent book. From the first page till the last page. I could not put the book down.
Anyone who is into a good love story should read this book. It was the first time I read anything from this author.
I have gone on and purchase a few more of her book. Excellent storyteller. !! 5 stars from me.
I thought this book was great. Murphy is a totally hot District Attorney who's had a thing for Hope Jarvis since she was in law school only she doesn't remember him because she was so nervous at the time she met him. She's an attorney who focuses on making sure every criminal, no matter how nasty, gets a fair trial. Of course this puts them at odds immediately when she shows up in his office to head up a task force to make sure the DA's office is doing their job properly. He has a scarred past with the loss of his wife and has commitment issues. It's all very "been there and done that" but still a fun read. If I changed anything it would have been the ending. When they finally got to the HEA it was like BAM the book is over.........what's that about; were we up against a deadline and had to rush out to the grocery store or something. Very odd; but what can I say, I'm a sap for love conquering all.
There are all kinds of affairs and this one was not in the least interesting. I wasted good time that I have little of to read a very boring story.
Have to say I normally don't give my opinion. But, this book was awful. I have read lots of romance novels with actual plots, mixed with some sexual undertones. This book had nothing, it even stopped 75% in to it, it just ended. What? crazy.
I want my .99$ back, that is how terrible it was.
Take two strong, stubborn characters and mix romance into the mix, and you have one of Ms Malek's love stories. I wasn't quite sure this pair was going to make it to their HEA, but they did it! Seeing how they managed if will amuse you, and keep you up a bit later than you'd planned, but you'll roll over and go to sleep smiling.

At 99 cents this book was a rip off. It left me totally dissatisfied. It's like the author had a word quota and she was seriously in danger of surpassing it so she had to end it abruptly. If it wasn't a kindle book, I would think someone tore out the last chapter of the book. Hot guy, hot girl, okay plot, how could something so right go so wrong ? If I could give this 1/2 a star I would. My advise is find another 99 cents book to read because this one is unfinished. I can't explain how bereft this book has left me. It's like doing a lot of work to crack open a walnut and then discovering there is no nut inside. A book without an ending, that's like a fashion show without fashion..seriously?
